# CUDA error #719 (cudaErrorLaunchFailure)

Here post your question  
Could you please help with this error? I am getting this error since I started using the version 2023.1.  
Thanks in advance.

mdrun continues for a while (e.g., 100 ns) and then stops with the error CUDA error #719 (cudaErrorLaunchFailure). mdrun stops writing to the log file (md\_sim.log).  
My GPU drivers are updated:  
NVIDIA-SMI 530.30.02  
Driver Version: 530.30.02  
CUDA Version: 12.1  
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti

Command line:  
gmx mdrun -nt 16 -pin off -deffnm md\_sim -cpo -cpi -v

Program: gmx mdrun, version 2023.1  
Source file: src/gromacs/gpu\_utils/device\_stream.cu (line 100)  
Function: DeviceStream::synchronize() const::\<lambda()\>

Assertion failed:  
Condition: stat == cudaSuccess  
cudaStreamSynchronize failed. CUDA error #719 (cudaErrorLaunchFailure):  
unspecified launch failure.

I also have the similar issue with Gromacs 2023.1 on RTX4090.

Hi,  
In my case, removing one RAM stick solved the problem.  
An expert at the pc service center told me that the RAM stick was the problem.  
However, a new RAM stick did not solve it.  
It looks like the RAM slot of the motherboard has become faulty.

I think such error might be also related to the hardware problems of my machine. I will be check.

I’m also getting the same error, does the change in ram stick help you?

I solve the issue by installing the latest version of Cuda and Nvidia. As well I have disable my boot recovery system. Now it works fine, with no problem.
