# Enabling GPU after GROMACS installation

Good day!

I would like to ask if there is a way to enable GPU acceleration even after I have installed GROMACS? gmx --version shows that GPU is disabled.

I have tried multiple times to install CUDA directly from the website using the code for Linux but every time I try, GPU is still disabled.

You need to recompile and reinstall with CUDA support activated.
