# Extending a simulation

GROMACS version: gromacs 2021  
GROMACS modification: Yes/No  
Can we extend a simulation for second using the output files of the previous extended simulation ?

Should be able to, I don’t think the convert-tpr command would treat the already extended simulation files any differently since it generates a new tpr file for the extended one anyways, did you run into some issue when you tried it?
