# Sudo make install error

GROMACS version: 2021.3  
GROMACS modification: No

I encounter the following error when using the command “sudo make install”

What did I do wrong and how do I fix this?

Looks like you are using a shared computer/cluster, where you have limited write permission. Provide a path where you have write permission for installation while invoking **cmake** with **-DCMAKE\_INSTALL\_PREFIX=/path/to/install**
