Dear all,

Next GROMACS developer meeting will be 2025-10-29T00:00:00Z 11:00 CET on zoom. Everybody is welcome.

If there are any specific topics you wish to discuss, just add to the agenda by editing this post or answer it Monday before the call. A defined agenda help that interested people will join the call.

Agenda:

  • update on beta (Berk)
  • <very brief description of the topic, and link to information on the ideas or to the issue> < who you are>
  • Open questions

We usually reserve in total 20 min for each discussion topic and suggest max 10 min to present the problem followed by discussion.

Brief outline of the topics discussed:

  • MRs for 2026 are going in, lot of churn, CI is very active
  • marking features as experimental/validation required
    • how to report the validation that was performed before code submission
    • what parameter sets should be validated before the validation required label can go away, how extensive this has to be for each feature, should the validation be tracked in issues
    • evolving practices, i.e. “start with something that makes sense and improve the process/rules over time”
