Installation halts at cmake

GROMACS version: 2020.3.
GROMACS modification: No
Here post your question At the cmake stage the installation fails at the below steps. The regression tests can’t be downloaded I suppose.

CMake Error at tests/CMakeLists.txt:57 (message):
error: downloading
‘http://gerrit.gromacs.org/download/regressiontests-2020.3.tar.gz’ failed
status_code: 7
status_string: “Couldn’t connect to server”

From http://manual.gromacs.org/documentation/current/install-guide/index.html:

Alternatively, you can download and unpack the GROMACS regression test suite http://gerrit.gromacs.org/download/regressiontests-2020.3.tar.gz tarball yourself and use the advanced cmake option REGRESSIONTEST_PATH to specify the path to the unpacked tarball, which will then be used for testing

Give that a try.

Dear Dan,

Thank you for the reply.

The first link is an error 404 and the second one I have tried to download, but it just “times out” every time.

Am I missing something?

Hi Chetna,

As Christian mentions in the above link, you might have a firewall issue.

The link works for me, just took a minute for the download to begin. It’s over 40MB.

Can you try to download it from a different network?
