Registration form: https://forms.gle/Tc8bGPRzJiEKz5rM7
The Center for Computing in Engineering and Sciences (CCES) at UNICAMP is seeking to fill 4 postdoctoral positions in the area of molecular dynamics simulations. The research will be supervised by Profs. Munir S. Skaf and/or Leandro Martínez, of the Institute of Chemistry of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP).
Registrations open until June 20th, 2025.
CCES is one of the Research, Innovation, and Diffusion Centers (CEPIDs) supported by FAPESP and is headquartered at the Institute of Chemistry (IQ-Unicamp): https://cces.unicamp.br/.
The projects involve one or more of the following activities:
Investigating the structure, dynamics, and reaction mechanisms of enzymes active in the degradation of carbohydrates, esters, and other organic polymers.
Investigating the nano-architecture of exopolysaccharide aggregates in bacterial biofilms.
Understanding solvent effects on protein and other polymer folding processes, their aggregation, interaction with ligands, and catalytic activity.
Implementation of software for analyzing simulation data.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in one of the following areas: chemistry, physics, biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields. Solid experience in molecular dynamics simulations is essential. For those interested in software development, programming experience is crucial, and some knowledge of the Julia language is welcome. Upon implementation of the fellowship, the selected candidate must have obtained their doctoral degree within the last 7 (seven) years, except under the conditions provided for in PR Ordinance n. 171/2024.
The fellowships, in the amount of R$ 12,000.00 per month, will be granted for a period of 12 months starting from August 1, 2025 or the earliest convenience date. Benefits include a Technical Reserve, equivalent to 10% of the annual fellowship amount, to be spent directly on research activities. More information can be found at https://fapesp.br/bolsas/pd.
