Hi, very recently I have started to use MAC OS having M1 chip as the processor. This is the first time I am dealing with this type of processor. I want to install gromacs on my machine, but it failed. I have tried to install using homebrew but when I write gmx in terminal it is showing “Illegal hardware instruction”. Any help in this regard is highly appreciable. Thanks in advance.
Hello,
instead of installing via Homebrew I would suggest trying to compile it yourself. If the M1 chip is supported the manual compilation should detect and compile for it.
