dRama: Differential Ramachandran Plot as a Tool to Analyze Subtle Changes in Protein Structure

Brief description of tools/files:
Ramachandran plot is often used to analyze the MD simulation results. The problem with classical Ramachandran plot, however, is that it becomes gradually indecipherable at a high number of points due to saturation. We proposed a useful and efficient tool, that is, differential Ramachandran plot (dRama), which enables to compare protein structures and extract the differences, providing a highly readable graphical representation (see exemplary image below).

The script along with detailed manual is freely available on GitHub (link below). It is written to be directly used with Gromacs gmx rama output files, but can be used with any other MD-related software that can generates the torsional angles of a protein.
